analyzation of Lungern, the Allegretto witch (I was a huge and I mean HUGE jsab fan back in the day, still am but the jnh hyperfixation took over a while ago)

Light spoilers ahead!

Name and Witch Type

First off, the witches name. Lungern means to lurk, lie in wait for an opportunity. It’s more commonly used as Herumlungern, which means to hang around or loiter. This may refer to (possibly?) feeling like a bystander, or the bystander effect in general.

The witch’s type, Allegretto, sort of sounds like regret, but it also means “Moderately fast” or “Lightly brisk”. Ironically, the song used in their boss fight, Close to Me, is 124 BPM, which puts the song at Allegro moderato (120 - 128 BPM). But still it is close to being Allegretto.

Design of Lungern

The witches general outfit seems to pull from The Pink Corruption, a just shapes and beats fanseries (design seen below). Specifically the color pallete and the coat (which seemingly is portrayed as a gown with a coat in this design)

The clasps holding the witches coat seem to be blue, square-cut gemstones (possibly lapis lazulis or sapphires. Lapis Lazulis symbolize truth, wisdom, enlightenment and inner power. Sapphires symbolize trust and sincerity.)

The headpiece? Hair? Seems to be a bush with flowers I can’t make out (excluding some butterflies, which represents freedom). If anyone can make out what flowers they are please let me know!

The head is, well, a cube.

The Labyrinth

idk what this is behind the witch and this is one of the only things I am stumped on im so sorry if this means smth like, really big and im just missing smth but 😭😭😭😭

The Ferris wheel is red fading into blue. In the game, pink / red is a color belonging to the enemy, with the blue usually symbolizing the good side. This is a bit of a stretch, but could this be a reference to the time the Cube was corrupted and became the boss for Close to Me alongside the industrial feeling the Ferris wheel has referring to the Industry?

There are tear drop cut diamonds(??) behind the witch, which reference the cubes tears in the normal design.

You can VAGUELY see that the witch is standing on a stage. Stages are usually used for performances, like concerts. There is also a TPC animation where Cube is AT a concert, so I think there could be influence from that.

There seems to be a SBc (barred) spiral Galaxy behind the witch + a galaxy below the stage, im unsure what this could be a reference to other than a cool design detail put into the labyrinth. It could also be a reference to Milky Ways by bossfight, a song used in the game.

There seems to be something connected and/or disconnected to the Ferris wheel, which reminds me of this thing in the industry?? idk man this might be a stretch

There is this weird shape that sort of resembles a star or gear near the witch but im unsure?? I won’t cover it sadly bc I am genuinely unsure what it could mean if it’s a star (like that flower thing also seen in the labyrinth), if it’s a gear though, refer to the boss fight which has a gear form

Finally, there’s curtains. Curtains from what I’ve seen tend to appear in previous witches, especially witches that have to hide something OR witches that have something to do with performance.

With that, I end my observation of Lungern. With that said, I actually really love their design and hold it close to my heart. Keep up the good work, Andreas! :D

Lungern : the allegretto witch

Another four done today (definitely not posting at one in the morning that would be ridiculous) these ones in posing are, well, not the most creative i’ve ever done but they were all still fun to work on~

The top left is West by @sleeplesscubes . Same concept as the last two, have them be in the same shot but at a separate angle. No playing with winged cape today as I didn’t want to be too repetitive but I did have my fun with the eye, very cute character this west is!

The top right is Green? (Name to be changed?) by @theokone . I had an idea but in execution on sketch it didn’t really turn out how i wanted so i had to go much simpler, still we must appreciate the snipy boy (guys i think tumblr culture is started to effect me XD)

The bottom left is Genta by @sillyshape . More soft bat jackal shapes! (I don’t know if that’s what they’re actually based on but they heavily remind me of that so I’m going with this) story on this one is heavily intriguing and once again used in minor inspiration. I can’t imagine they’d like the idea of Muzzles too much after that

And the bottom right is Terra from @jsab-jubs (originally reblogged from @jsabaddictondrugs , I don’t know which account you wanted so i’ll just go with both, sorry for the double @) my attempt is fairly simplistic all things considered but i tried something a bit different then i did with Arrum’s i tried to make it more something i would realistically draw while still staying true to the character, much more a blend of styles if you will. I have to say, I like my attempt with the bull a bit more then the butterfly so it was definitely worth it to me to try something slightly different ^^

A fun thingy from a JSAB fan server where my first design of Blixer meets the latest except I now have 4 different cat boys and the original guy I made had no story, so he gets to meet the crew:]!!

This is also my excuse to talk about each shown on the right. The tallest one with a scar is from 'Before' and 'Butterfly Effect' as both stories are set within the same place just many years apart ^^! The little guy with 2 spiders on him is Blix from 'Regret', sassy on the farthest side is Prince Fresh or "Blixer" as he'd rather be called from 'Second Chance', and the faded guy in the back is King Fresh from by first JSAB au that I'm still re-working called 'New Life'!

It's about time I start diving fully into posting JSAB content & fan content again this year

So why not start off with some concept drawings between Captain and Lycan!

For some brief lore, this universe is called 'JSAB: Before' a sort of prequel of an AU I've had for about 2 years now called 'JSAB: Butterfly Effect' Or JSAB: BE. That story takes place in a more modern setting with advanced technology on Paradise with new dangers and OCs to help understand the lore, while JSAB: Before is more focused on the start of the world, how it was created, backstories of all the characters and after the events of the game (Including 'The Lost Chapter' section!)

I'm currently working on a short comic introducing the lore taking place after the events caused by New Game and the 4 heros restoring Paradise and helping plan a celebration for a new era as the Tree is developing a new change.
